City Fire

Stopped by City Fire yesterday for a cold drink at the bar after walking around the square. The staff were super friendly. Jenny, the bartender instantly becomes your best friend and has worked there 12 years. They have a fabulous hands on owner who suggested I hang a sign behind the bar. COMING SOON……VILLAGEREATS.COM sign behind the bar. I know I will be sitting there more often just so I can see my sign. Isn’t The Villages great!

Lighthouse Point

I had lunch with a friend yesterday at Lighthouse Point in Sumter Landing. I had fried fish for $5.99 and my friend had popcorn shrimp for $7.99. Both meals were delicious. Plus we received 20% off for being nurses. We sat in the shade on the deck overlooking the water. What a relaxing lunch.

Eating Out!

Does anyone remember reading Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus a book written by American author and relationship counselor John Gray? It helped me to understand why food is so important to men. My husband and I have had this debate for years. It is typical for him to ask me what we are having for dinner the tomorrow night when we haven’t even finished tonight’s meal. He thinks it is very ironic that we have created a website that is all about “what’s for dinner”. He is all about eating and I’m all about saving money so Villager Eats has been a blessing for both of us.

So tonight we ate out for Taco Tuesday. The best deal we have found so far is at Beef O’Brady’s. Two tacos of your choice with chips and salsa for $5.99. I had the chicken and he had the fish. They were both delicious. We also enjoyed two for one tall Margaritas for $8. Along with are meal we received a free appetizer for loading their app on our phone. Beef O’Brady’s have specials every day and happy hour is 2 for 1 all day. Check them out on our website.

SPANISH SPRINGS town square

Spanish Springs Town Square is a beautiful place to dine and drink. The Town Square is of Spanish design which represents the Spanish settlers of Florida. BROWNWOOD AT PADDOCK SQUARE

Enjoy the feeling of living in the West in the 1800’s. You will see beautiful statutes of cowboys and cattle roaming the area. It took a lot more work to eat a steak in those days. I bet it was worth it. Whether dining inside or out, you really get the true feeling of being out West. Several restaurants to choose from include Cody’s Original Roadhouse, Bluefin Grill and Bar, Ricciardi’s Italian Table, McAlister’s Deli, City Fire, World of Beer, Toojays, Gator’s Dockside, Five Guys, Scooples Ice Cream Parlor and more.
